COSTA MAJAHUAS
A poetic set of beaches that embraces the coast of Majahuas stands out in a singular manner at Costalegre thanks to the integration of natural elements.
Punta Las Peñitas, Hotelito Desconosido, Majahuas, Peñitas and Chalacatepec are landscapes shaping this coast, each one contributes a characteristic touch of beauty.

CHALACATEPEC / PEÑITAS LA PINTADA
Chalacatepec, a beach with a peacefulness that causes envy, is located 25 minutes from the main city of the municipality of Tomatlán.
The structure of a pirate shipwreck that sank there and became part of the legends of the place is located near the edge.

La Peñita Pintada(The painted rock) can be admired at the Tomatlán River bank. The paintings found are at the bottom wall and the ceiling of a natural granular rock cave.
Las Peñitas, located half a mile from Campo Acosta, is a beach that is protected by a large amount of rocks, which give it its name. Tourist services are only provided during vacation periods due to the large amount of visitors.
MAJAHUAS / PUNTA PEÑITAS
Majahuas is located 15 kilometers from the main city in the municipality.
This place is preferred by those visitors who enjoy camping.
The most important turtle fields of the state of Jalisco are located here.

Punta Peñitas is located 90 minutes from Tomatlán, through the coast highway in the intersection called Cruz de Loreto.
This is an ideal beach for sailing and fishing. Protected by the robust vegetation of this place, the beach has remained almost virginal and is known for being the main supplier of fish for the region.
CAJON DE PEÑAS
It is the largest dam in the state of Jalisco with a capacity of 707 million cubic meters. Technically it is classified as a gravity dam and is located to the Northwest of the Municipal Main City, at Km. 130 of federal highway 200, 18 Km. by dirt road towards Viejo Santiago.

The impressive dam of Cajón de Peñas, not only supplies water to Tomatlán, but it also benefits its agriculture and helps generate electric energy.
At present, due to its location and features, it is a true attraction for locals and visitors.

It has tourist services with food originating in the dam and water transportation.
It is possible to fish tilapia, bass, prawn and bagre, it also has the ability to produce the exotic mollusk called tegolobo, valued everywhere for its exquisite flavor and difficult reproduction, since it is only possible to find it in this dam and in the coasts
of Veracruz.

LAS ALAMANDAS

ISLA PAJARERA

This beach has the charming feature of being located next to a hill where the bay starts with a vertical rock wall on the left that gives life to many shapes in the hill and rocks to the right, creating a soft wave ideal for swimming and diving.
Sunsets, especially at El Negrito, are unforgettable due to the magic touch of nature over the place.
BAHIA DE CHAMELA
Following highway 200 we can reach this beautiful and exotic bay of suspended landscapes in the deep horizon of its companions, the sea and sky, interrupted only by numerous islands that close this charming place. A home of birds, it has more than six miles of varied sea and river scenarios, an ideal place filled with motifs for pencil artists.

The mellow song of the waves hitting the rocks, the green hill for helpless romantics to contemplate the large ocean, the peacefulness of its beaches that can be enjoyed by children, rock areas for divers, these are some of the features offered by Chamela Bay.

The set of small islands like: La Colorada, Cocinas, San Andres, Pajarera (a reserve of birds and an ideal place for diving), Novilla, Esfinge, San Pedro, San Agustín and La Negrita, all of which are easily accessible by boat and represent an additional attraction of the Bay.

PLAYAS DE CAREYES
Teopa is a long and solitaire beach, located north of the Cuixmala coast. This is an extraordinary example of the kindness of Mother Nature.
A great lighthouse is a daily witness of the special beauty of this zone. Careyitos is a small and exquisite bay with very soft waves.

Costa Reyes, surrounded by a set of multiple shape rocks has a touch of privacy.

The habitat has been declared a reserve of sea turtles, a place to protect these millenary animals that make Cuixmala their home together with a large biodiversity that is protected in this important ecologic reserve.
Besides the Cuixmala Ecologic Foundation there is a Biosphere reserve at Sierra de Manantlán, with a surface area of 159,577 hectares.
EL TECUAN
The lighthouse located at kilometer 33 of the highway is the detour that takes us to the beautiful landscape of El Tecuan.

The Pacific Ocean, through its open sea, caresses the beaches of this unique paradise with strong waves that bathe its golden colored sand.
A large zone of prodigious swamps located behind the beach invites us to go there and live an exciting adventure.

TENACATITA
A few miles ahead of El Tamarindo, we can find the magnificent Tenacatita Bay, one of the largest in Mexico.

LOS ANGELES LOCOS / PUNTA SERENA
A beach of unequaled beauty, with soft waves and slopes as well as light gold fine sand and palm trees that surround the area where the shrimp farms are located, all in a well protected part of Tenacatita Bay.
This is a lost paradise in the coast of Jalisco, surrounded by vegetation and built between tropical gardens and virgin beaches also featuring a first class hotel.

BOCA DE IGUANAS

Boca de Iguanas is located northeast of Tenacatita Bay, next to a hill where a large set of palm trees end and become an overwhelming natural wall.

LA MANZANILLA
This is a discrete town of long beaches and classic palapas (rustic umbrellas made of palm leaves), which is part of the beutiful Tenacatita Bay. The sensible waves and moderate slope are just part of its attributes.

Its sand is golden gray and big palm trees extend towards the Boca de Iguanas beach.
It is located in the coast, 60 kilometers from the main city of the municipality and can be reached through federal highway 200, at kilometer 14.

One of its many attraction is the surrounding made of astonishing mango trees and the river that provides life to the La Manzanilla swamp, home of caimans that can be seen in their natural habitat together with a large array of birds.
BAHIA DE TENACATITA

EL TAMARINDO
El Tamarindo is a small spectacular peninsula in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where elegant villas exhibit their special architecture and comfort to please the most demanding tastes where privacy and peace dominate.

BARRA DE NAVIDAD
Puerto Xalisco was the name given to this place by Fracisco de Híjar, until the arrival of the viceroy Antonio de Mendoza in 1540.
Here in Barra de Navidad, there were shipyards where boats were built for the expedition that left this place in 1564 and discovered and conquered the Philippines.

A colorful fishermen town, they pray to the Cristo del Ciclon, unique in the world. This beautiful town is one of the favorite places of the domestic and international tourism.

BAHIA DE NAVIDAD
Barra de Navidad is a colorful fishermen town, with yellow sandy beaches and high waves that let you surf, water ski, dive and practice sports fishing.
In the other side of its land you find Laguna de Navidad, a lagoon with quiet waters, excellent for sailing, motor boat riding or paddling through its tidelands or fishing.

Another beach worth visiting is San Patricio-Melaque, a long beach in the most protected part of the bay.
Not too far from there you can find Cuastecomates, a place with a soft sandy bay approximately 250 meters long.
CIHUATLAN
The municipality of Cihuatlán is located in the southwest region of the state. It has boundaries to the north with the municipalities of La Huerta and Cuautitlán, with the same ones also respectively to the east and to the west and to the south with the Pacific Ocean and the state of Colima.
The beatiful beaches of Barra de Navidad, Melaque, Cuastecomates and El Tamarindo, are part of this special municipality.

Within its large vegetation one can find trees of spring, purple rose, tulle, palm trees, guamúchil, pine, oak, and other species in its rain forest.
